I however might have liked more stuff on the demon side, on the fights within the voids. I really liked the bargains with the demons idea, how it works in general for other people with body parts, but especially how it worked with the Daemon here with hearts - clauses, the way they still lived, what things they could or couldn't do, how it worked with the hearts, etc. Lloyd-Jones tracks Dee's Faustian journey without ever falling out of step, and the story itself will ensnare readers as surely as any bargain. It makes Dee and James's romance more authentic, sweet and touching. Praise Praise for The Hearts We Sold: 'Beautifully written and elegantly characterized, this is a thoughtful, melancholy tale of love and redemption, magic and choice. I also always like the way Emily Lloyd-Jones build in the romance in her books, always based on trust and communication, which is awesome. As always with Emily Lloyd-Jones's books, I loved the character development of the female MC (Dee), I liked how she has her faults and problems but she's still getting stronger and stronger.
